What is SG National Day?
Singapore's big birthday happens on 9 August every year, marking the day we gained independence from Malaysia in 1965. It's a public holiday, so most of us get a day off work to celebrate!
You've probably seen the National Day Parade (NDP) on TV, right? It's the biggest event here, with over 200,000 spectators coming together to watch our SAF soldiers march, bombastic cultural performances, and an epic fireworks display.
The fireworks rank as one of the largest in Southeast Asia, lasting a whopping 20 minutes!
